Hi everyone! I wanted to know what clever ideas everyone came up with for their Wonderful World of Physics project. I'm sure there are some creative ones, especially since "we be IB!" I'll start! I'm doing "The Physics of the Belagio Water Fountains" in Las Vegas, NV. The show is quite a spectacle if you have never seen it! I hope everyone's having a great weekend!

IB people!!! allison's idea sounds really interesting, and i'm sure you'll get a 5 on the creativity part on the rubric. my topic is going to be the wonderful world of optical illusions- and, just a question for anyone who knows the answer: what's the format for the report? on the rubric it states that the one page essay is supposed to be type III...what exactly is that?

Hmmmm...Type III. That's a good question Vicky! I would guess that a type III essay is an open-ended response because that's what it says on the rubric. I would just follow all of the FCAs, answer the questions that the rubric says to answer, and write a thoughtful, IB-worthy essay. If you do that, there's no reason that you should not get the A (at least on the essay). Optical illusions is a great idea!

yeah that really is a good topic vicky. are you hoping to explain like "magic" tricks or just optical illusions for everyday objects or something like that? anyways, cary academy tourney sucked. all varsity PF teams went 2-2 including kim&diana. the top 5 varsity LD places went to MP ranking from 1st(lucy) 2nd(Mariem) 3rd(Roshan) 4th(Chiraag) 5th(Rasesh). we got 3rd in sweeps becuase we lost in a tie braker against EE SMith. anyways, see ya in class.

Hey guys! Thanks for all your help, and for anyone else who might need some, Mr. Fisher explains it more on Schoolnotes. Sorry about Cary Academy (who posted that?) , I knew there was going to be a reason I dropped! But anyway. I echo Lee's question- is homework 2 hard?

I'm doing my project on the physics of hydraulics. I was wondering whether we have to have a 3-D working model for the presentation? Or can we just do a picture?

do y'all know if we can do more than five questions for our questions?

Wow. I am sure we do not have to do a 3-D model for the presentation, but that would definately get you major XC points. Melon09, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to have more than 5 questions.

to:melon09 I don't believe Mr. Fisher would penalize you for having extra questions, if anything I think he would see it as you going the extra mile for some extra credit! On another note I have a copy of the Physics Quizzes cd from a friend who had the class last semester so if anyone would like a copy just let me know. Unfortunately I can't give out a copy to a lot of people so if I give a copy to one person ask them to make you a cd. This is an easy way for everyone to get a copy and some XC.

Hey guys, everyone had some great projects today. Anyways, I had a couple questions on the contracts. First off, how many people have done the MAC contract. If so, I was a little bit confused on some of the stuff that we had to do. Type II reports have correct answers. Right? Anyways, Spencer, do you still have that extra copy of the Physics Quizzes. I was wondering if I could borrow it and burn a copy for myself.
