Physics is hard! I feel it may be the most challenging class at Myers Park. If a student is good at math, intends to major in engineering or science, wants to be competitive for schools such as MIT, Geargia Tech, Duke, etc.....then physics makes sense.
I feel some students shy away from physics because they are too concerned about GPA. They think that an A in another class such as a humanities, business, or "easier" science class will give them a higher GPA and help them get into the college of their choice. They are mistaken.
College admissions officers are experienced at looking at thousands of transcripts. They can see through "resume building". I know. I was a college admissions officer at an extremely hard college to get into. What they look for is that the student is taking the hardest courses available to them at their school.
IB Physics II, AP Physics are the hardest courses at Myers Park for many students. But Doc is one of the BEST higher level physics teachers in the COUNTRY! More students should be taking advantage of his passion for teaching physics.

People think that Physics was very difficult. They don't want to get a bad grade again. Physics 2 students also say that Physics 2 is harder than 1.

It also depends on what other classes you're taking. Some students are double stacking sciences with chemistry and biology. That leaves no room for physics, even though we want to take it.

Alot of people feel that they would not be able to pass physics without ITS. They feel that Doc Smith's method of teaching would be too hard to pass
