What are your thoughts about the physics tests? Too hard? Reasonable? What can students do to prepare for the tests? Well, I would have to say that the tests are challenging - but are ultimately rewarding in the long run. The reason I say this is because we learn to apply different subjects (in most peoples cases, Methods), and derive answers from key concepts. Essentially, this teaches us how to work from basic concepts (F=ma), and apply to attain the answers. Hard? Yes. Unreasonable? Mayhaps. Good tool? Definately.

Tests are definately difficult. I don't particularly like them, but i guess with the FFL and other curves, they're not extremely difficult (perhaps very difficult, but not extremely). I still wish the test's were easier...

Why would you want easier tests? As they are, the class averages before FFL are around 80, with a fairly high % of A's and B's before FFL. Tests are very similiar to the practice test and homework problems, so students who do HW and the PT ....plus pay attention to concepts from Physics Quizzes, will do well on the tests. The respect I have for my students keeps me from making a "feel good test" where everyone gets 95 or higher before FFL!

I think that the tests, although difficult, are intended, and this is good too, to ensure students understand the concepts and how to apply them. Granted, they are hard, but if you study and make a good help sheet, and with the curves, everyone can make at least a C. I think that they will prepare us greatly for the EOC's considering that we did well on the quarterly, and that is a representation of the EOC

The test's are difficult, but i would have to agree that they help you overall in the long run. IB Phsyics II test's will be harder, and the tests help us better prepare for the EOC. a good helpsheet and doing HW and PT is the key to sucess. Overall, i don't mind them too much, seeing as i have done well on most of them.

^ Don't forget Physics Quizzes! I always leave these to last/forget to do them, but they are REALLY important at getting the concepts. Doing that and LVD (not for Space but for other units) are really helpful tools to learn the concepts. I think if you gain an understanding of the concept, then you will be able to use the formulas to succeed on the test.

The tests are very challenging, i know I'm doing better than last quarter, but there is still ALOT i don't get the we are taking, and i know that when EOC's come around i wont do so good on the physics one because i am not grasping the concepts now. [glow=red,2,300][/glow]

The tests aren't that hard...if u would use ur time on physics in class instead of debate and talking, u probably do alot better.

I think that the physics tests are somewhat hard...and reasonable at the same time...does that make sense? I think that mr.fisher is doing a great job in teaching the class what we need to know in order to be successful at the unit. All we have to do is put in some effort at doing the contracts and learning a little bit on our own, then we will be okay for the tests. I hope I'll do okay on the heat energy test!

the tests are hard for good reason, i think
b/c we all did really well on the EOC.. so the tests help us prepare for them

I hate the group tests. They are much harder than the usual "Fisher Tests." If none of us could do them by ourselves, that doesn't mean that we can do them when we're with more people

The test was incredibly difficult because the unit was not organized well. I didn't understand it because we only did one problem set to learn the whole unit.

I thought this unit was one of the most difficult we have done all year. I wish we had done more problem sets in class so we could practice this problems more. I liked the test because it was a good learning oppurtunity, but we didn't have enough time to finish it.
