static friction = pressing down a key on the key board
that one press = only one letter, pretty hard (j/k)

and notice the delay before the letter starts to repeat over and over again
kinetic friction is when your rolling - that key is pushed down and the letters are flowing
now push your book over the table tommorow in class, notice the slight pause before you overcome the static friction and get the book in motion such as pressing a key and then one letter shows and then a pause and finally, repeating letters
