Mr. Fisher's tests challenge us to work at our maximum potential. That's why people have said that it makes the quarterly tests seem easier. Physics quizzes really make us understand and apply the concepts. While we may not make as high of an initial grade on the test as we would like, Mr. Fisher is more concerned that we get the concepts, so we get a major curve. The final thing to remember is what Matthew said. Help sheets can really help you out, but only if you use them correctly. Some people put too much information on them and get confused looking for the right equation on test day. Don't put down too much info, keep it simple with the key equations and maybe some physics quizzes concepts and you'll see your grades become higher.

I agree with Andrew Z. completely. Doing the work to the best of our ability is the only way to learn what we need to know for Mr. Fisher's tests. There's been a honor code problem recently among my fellow IB juniors making copies of other people's notes because they take so long to do- don't fall into this trap! That's not really learning. The best part about ITS is being responsible for your own learning and realizing you have control over what you learn and don't learn. It's a lot of hard work, but it doesn't get easier from here- so keep up the good work and do your best!

I think the tests aren't THAT bad as long as you have a good help sheet. But when it comes to group tests, it's a little hard and also nerve racking. The last one that we took seemed really hard..well for some part at least. Otherwise, I don't think the tests are too bad.

the box confuzes me sometimes..i wish we could go over that again since a good foundation is always the key to having a good house..did that make sense... but if i actually get the practice test and can do most of it without help then i do well on the real test..

i also like having the answers of the practice tests on the msg brd because that way if i do a problem and dnt get a right answer then i can go check it and know what the right answer is and figure out the way to get the right answer using the formulas. that was a run on sentance but i think i got my point across, but sometimes its tough to find exactly what you are looking for on the msg brd..it seems to be getting messy and there are way too many things goin on esp. since we can have threads in the general brd about w/e we want, maybe we should get a new msg brd..??..or clean this one up by deleting some old posts..

Although the practice tests help, do knows haven't been showing up too often lately. Even though we don't do them as a class, I think they should still be written up on a board and announced for students who need it. It may help some people more on the tests.

I think that the tests are definitely do-able, especially since we have a help sheet. They're hard enough that you have to try and focus really hard, but you don't have to try to memorize all the equations and stuff so you can just focus on learning the concepts and use your help sheet to help you remember. Also, the square root times ten and then find and fix helps anyone that's willing to put in the effort get a good grade.
