What are your thoughts about the physics tests? Too hard? Reasonable? What can students do to prepare for the tests?

So far I think that the Physics tests have been wayyy to hard, this is obivious becase the average grades have been Fs!! Multiple choice test would enable students to better to prepare for the EOC and Quarterly assessments, while at the same time increasing their grade.

Tests are challenging but doabale and reasonable. I write my tests based on what we have covered in class. Students who understand the Do Knows, do the HW and check answers, work the practice test, and start studying a few days before the test, do well on the test. As for multiple choice tests.....they do little to let me know if students actually understand the material and DO NOT help students understand the concepts! All they do is to allow students who have learned how to "take a test" to do a little betterm so it looks like they are learning. Class average on the 1stQ EOC is 80.3 and median score is 83 ! That's reasonable. It's because I force my students to show work and try to solve physic problems the right way, but thinking, not by guessing.
