Well Poyun, I am in your study group, so this question does not apply to me (I am special ). Anyways, I think that i speak for all in saying that study groups larger than 3 people DO NOT work (too much talky and not enough worky). Also, without my study group (you and Peyman (not Alex)), I would most likely be screwed. Oh do I hear the sweet sound of an extra credit point?--ding!

we did attempt a study group out of school once..i remember getting off topic the entire time. we finished what we needed to do...mostly...but if we had really been focused it would have worked better. i think the smaller the study group the better...4 is max for me. however, during class, large group work is very productive

We had a study group today after school at the library. I was kind of hesitant at first because whenever i try it seems we get off topic but it worked really well today . We tied up lose ends and finished up the hw. I think you have to find a group of people who are focused and want to help each other but still can have fun ! ;D

my study group is a group of 3... me myself and i.... just kidding but i try to get as help as i can before i go and fail Mr. Fisher's test. i think study groups is a cool way to get help quickly. the best way to conduct one.....i don't know.

continuing on with what margaret said with a bit of a twist, i don't think study groups are all too helpful. i think in class, working with a group of people is fine. but outside of class doesn't really work that well. one gets off topic too much. also, there always seems to be one or two people who try and copy off of everyone else...which gets kind of annoying, if you know what i mean...
it all depends on whats on your mind if you really think you have to get this work done.. no matter who it is you'll get your work done.. but if you just form a study group to chill with friends then dats basically what you're going to do.. so choose ur group wisely and with intention then its all good

Well, Poyun, Conrad and I(ALEX not PEYMAN) have study groups for every unit. And i find elizabeth's comment quite contradictory to what she said today, "I actually found this helpful guys[ratio of 4:1]". Anyways, study groups do help, but as a conclusion to what all the other posts say, someone has to watch out and maintain an actual learning environment. Someone beastly enough to backhand someone that is talking. jk Alex Gharavi
