If I were the teacher, I would make the overview notes more clear and precise to read to avoid confusion on the homework problem set. I would make the notes very simple so that the homework is easier to attempt. I would also provide more information in the notes so that students understand everything necessary to learn.

If I were the teacher, I would make section outlines for each Unit. So it's a lot more easier to study for the EOC and for future references.

If I were the teacher...I would probably set aside some time (as a class) to maybe go over some of the homework problems. The Do (K)nows usually help, but sometimes students have more questions about other not as difficult problems.

If I were the teacher, I would do more mandatory progress checks to prevent procrastination (aka you must have x number of contracts done by x date)

If I was the teacher I would do Do Knows without the numbers and also do an example with numbers for people who may have a hard time understanding a problem without numbers.

In a way, the overview lectures (fold a piece of paper twice) are the "Section" reviews. If students need more detail than that, I prefer they outline the chapter. My feeling is that if I do a good section review, write it down as some teachers do, hand it out, then I'm doing the students' work and they will not learn as well!
The "Section Review" is also the NCSCOS, posted on-line. Everything is listed by objectives and it's very clear.

If I were the teacher, I would force all students to do do (k)nows.

I think it'd be useful to, at the end of class the day before the test, give a quick review of all the key concepts we need to know for the test. Pretty much it'd be going over the overview lecture, but I think hearing it from Mr. Fisher would do more.

Interesting.....other students, in particular A-Team members, have suggested that Do "K)nows are a waste of time for students who already know how to do.....or are very capable of figuring it out later.
How about this?...... Require Do (K)nows as a contract from all but A-Team members? or perhaps..... Do (K)nows are NOT required but I allow as XC!

Personally, I think that the current Do (K)now system is fine. If made into extra credit, then students would probably just take advantage of the free points, and if made into a contract, it would be a little too easy. I think Do (K)nows are more of an "activity." Also, although A-Team members may seem to not appreciate the Do (K)nows, I, for one, can attest that they're good to put on helpsheets, and they're good for those A-Team students who decide to slack off until the end (heh).

One word about homework, I think they should be a little shorter. I mean doing one or maybe two problems dealing with one concept is enough.

I would take two fifteen minute breaks during class and watch sportscener just to relax. After the break work really hard and look forward to the next break.

I agree that the Do(K)nows help a lot. I like it better when it is without the numbers because it forces us to figure out which numbers go where and it also makes the board less crowded. The only problem I have with Do(K)nows is the board is hard to read when it gets really jumbled and messy with eraser marks.

I would try to stay a little bit more on topic becuase sometimes when we do doknows or lectures mr fisher tends to digress. And i would have a little bit more options for the non A-team students, but i think thats blooms so nevermind. miller

If I were the teacher, I would hand out a list of all the chapters we have covered this year, with main topics under each chapter that all the students should look over and study. I would also make one big study guide for the end of the year, so that the students aren't completely unaware of what to study for for the test.
